why creativity?

why invest in creativity?

Having Artis in your school is like opening the doors wide open to allow in a fresh breeze. We energise, we stimulate, we inspire. Using our services regularly improves creative thinking in children. Allowing them the space to explore their individuality through the performing arts is a transformational experience. It can also raise standards, change attitudes and improve behaviour.
Increasing creative learning opportunities is now one of the main aims of the curriculum in English schools. The QCA programme Arts Alive! found that an arts-rich curriculum can be instrumental in achieving greater school improvement and increasing learning across the curriculum.
Developing creativity can:

  improve and enrich pupils' education
contribute to raising standards in schools
•  develop links with the community and contribute to the economy

The 2003 QCA’s curriculum development project looked at finding ways for the arts to contribute to pupils’ education: all the schools involved were positive about their experience of investing in the arts. Their only regret was that they hadn't done so sooner.
